Lessons From the Vine—Scripture: John 15

Today I want to debunk the myth of self-sufficiency. The idea that I am my own man, or I am the captain of my own destiny, is human folly. We are reminded in the word of God that in Him we live, move, breathe, and have our being! The truth is, we need each other and even more importantly, we need the Lord. Jesus says to his disciples that in order to grow, thrive and even survive, we must be connected to the vine; and that vine is Jesus.

So on this day as you go through all your daily rituals, thank God for his mercy, kindness and grace in your life. The truth is without his presence in our lives we can do nothing, but with Him we can do all things.

Thank God for being connected to a very fertile vine!

Lord forgive me for thinking that I am a self-made person, when in truth you saved me, you keep me, and you love me!
