Commitment to Ministry—Scriputure: 1st Corinthians 15:58

We in the church have made the error of thinking only those who carry the title reverend are called to ministry. While it is true we have been called to the ministry of preaching, each of us who has been saved has been called to the ministry of reconciliation. Yes beloved, the Bible tells us that we have a treasure in an earthen vessel. You have been given a gift from the Lord and the Lord expects you to use it to his glory.

Commitment to ministry demands that we take our calling seriously. Not only must we take it seriously we must be sincere in all ministry endeavors. As a minister you must always be lead by the Spirit and never by the flesh, for the flesh always seeks it own way. Take time out to pray and study the scriptures but most importantly be available to the Lord for service. With all that we have going on in our lives it is easy to let some things slip, but I say to you what Paul said many years ago, “Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”

Consider:
We must work the work of Him while it is day for night is coming and no one works at night!

Pray:
Lord help me to realize that the world is in the condition it is in not because of the activity of the enemy but because of the inactivity of Christians.

Determined to live by faith,
Dr. Stan
